We are pleased to share that GuloGulo Poetry Collective, along with our friends at Lip Chicken Poetry Podcast, was recently featured in Culture Current, Northern Colorado’s digital hub for arts and culture.
Written by Liz Alvarado and published on April 8, the piece, “Lip Chicken, GuloGulo, and the Art of Showing Up,” follows Alvarado into one of our Tuesday workshops at Wolverine Farm, where she finds, in her words, “a well-oiled machine bursting with eager, dedicated writers.” The article traces the relationship between GuloGulo and Lip Chicken, the KRFC 88.9 FM podcast hosted by Larry “Booger” Holgerson, Christine Hogg, and Thomas Ivory Jr., exploring what it means to build creative infrastructure in Fort Collins, not an institution, but something designed to carry others.
The piece touches on the Journey of the Poem, our philosophy of feedback and voice-preserving critique, and the very real civic stakes of what we do together every Tuesday. It is a generous and thoughtful portrait of this community and the people who show up for it, week after week.
