The Journey of the Poem

Join us every Tuesday at 6 PM at Wolverine Farm Publick House in Downtown Fort Collins
“The Journey of the Poem” is GuloGulo’s signature weekly rotation designed to move a writer’s work from initial spark to public performance. Every Tuesday at 6 PM, our community cycles through a comprehensive four-week (sometimes five-week!) process, beginning with a writing workshop to generate new drafts, moving into editorial critique for peer refinement, transitioning to performance at our featured open mic, and concluding with a community meeting to help the Collective reflect and grow. This non-hierarchical approach ensures that every poet in Fort Collins has a consistent, supportive space to develop their craft and share their voice in a professional yet welcoming environment.

Information for Participants
2nd Tuesday Editorial Critiques:
If you would like a piece peer-reviewed, please bring 20-30 copies for attendees (Every Poudre Valley Library cardholder receives 200 copy/print credits per month. Learn more.) Each piece will receive approximately 10 minutes of time (5 minutes reading and 5 minutes for discussion). To ensure every poet receives thoughtful and focused feedback, we may limit the number of pieces reviewed during high-attendance sessions.
Third Tuesday Open Mics:
To maintain an inclusive and supportive environment, we ask all participants to review our performance standards:
- Keep your performance to a maximum of 5 minutes. Practice with a timer beforehand.
- Harassment and hate speech are strictly prohibited.
- If your poem contains sensitive themes (e.g., violence, trauma), please provide a brief content note/trigger warning before you begin.
